OSHKOSH, WI (WINNEBAGO COUNTY) – Multiple people were injured after a powerboat collided with a paddleboat in a hit-and-run crash in Oshkosh this weekend, according to TMJ4 News.
The collision happened on the Fox River on Saturday when a 45-foot powerboat carrying seven people collided with a stern-wheel commercial paddleboat. The operator of the powerboat then fled the scene.
Multiple people aboard the paddleboat, which was carrying 43 passengers, sustained injuries in the collision. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Authorities with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect in connection with the collision on Tuesday. They identified him as 52-year-old Oshkosh resident Jason Lindemann.
Lindemann is facing 12 counts of second-degree felony reckless endangerment and 11 counts of misdemeanor failure to render aid after a boating accident.
