Narrative
SAUK CO., WI – Three women went to the hospital on Tuesday morning after a sedan and a pickup truck collided along a highway in north-central Sauk County.
The incident happened just after 3 a.m. on Highway 23 near Open View Road, which is just southwest of Sauk County Cemetery.
Police say that a northbound Chevrolet Cruze sedan veered into the southbound lane and collided almost head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado.
The force of the collision forced the Silverado off of Highway 23 and into a ditch. Additionally, a passenger from the Silverado was thrown from the vehicle.
The driver of the Cruze became entrapped in her vehicle and required extrication.
Both drivers and the passenger from the Silverado required hospitalization for injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities say that drugs and alcohol were a factor in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
