Narrative
GREENWOOD, WI – Five people were seriously injured Monday when a semi-truck struck a horse-drawn buggy in southeastern Vernon County.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. just south of County Road C on Kolash Road, which is near the town of Greenwood.
Authorities say that the southbound truck driver was intoxicated when he struck the northbound buggy.
Medics transported all five family members from the buggy to area hospitals with serious injuries.
The truck driver, identified as 63-year-old Bruce Donlan, faces OWI charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
