Narrative
HUDSON, WI – A Minnetonka man sustained fatal injuries Sunday in a two-vehicle collision along the interstate in southwestern St. Croix County.
The accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on the westbound side of I-94 near mile marker 1. This is in the town of Hudson, just east of the Wisconsin and Minnesota state line.
Police say that the driver of a westbound car lost control of his vehicle while using the shoulder to pass slower vehicles. After hitting a guardrail, the car struck a westbound motorcyclist.
Both drivers required hospitalization, and the motorcyclist died shortly after transport.
Authorities say the driver of the car was intoxicated when he caused the collision. He is expected to survive and will likely face charges.
