Narrative
ST. CROIX CO., WI – One person died Friday morning in a head-on collision involving an 18-wheeler along the interstate near Baldwin.
The incident happened around 9:18 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-94 on the western outskirts of Baldwin.
Police aren’t certain why the vehicle was travelling the wrong direction on the interstate, but they say it crashed into a semi-truck. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity to the public.
The 59-year-old driver of the semi sustained minor injuries in the accident.
