Narrative
WHITEHALL, WI – Two drivers sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning in the Town of Pigeon.
The collision took place shortly before 7 a.m. on Highway 53 near Haug Road.
Troopers say a stationary Chrysler Concord in the southbound lane, waiting to turn onto Haug Road, was rear-ended by a black Toyota 4-Runner. The impact pushed the Concord across the northbound lane onto the shoulder, and the 4-Runner continued into the northbound lane, colliding with an oncoming Chevrolet Equinox.
The 4-Runner’s driver was taken to Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall with non-life-threatening injuries, while the Equinox’s driver was airlifted to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse with severe injuries.
No occupants of the Chrysler were reportedly injured in the crash.
