Narrative
WEST ALLIS, WI – According to FOX6 Milwaukee, one person was killed and four people were injured, including two pedestrians, in an accident in West Allis on Sunday.
The crash was reported near the intersection of 60th Street and Burnham Street shortly after midnight on Sunday. Authorities say a driver of a Pontiac failed to stop at a red light and crashed into a Jeep at the intersection. The impact caused both vehicles to go off the road and hit two pedestrians standing on the sidewalk outside of a bar.
An 18-year-old passenger of the Pontiac, Maryxa Zepeda, was killed in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. The 18-year-old driver of the Jeep and the two pedestrians sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Pontiac was also transported to a hospital and arrested on suspicion of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. Alcohol use and speed are currently believed to be factors in the cause of the accident.
